Our Roots: K9 Pet Foods

Our story begins with K9 Pet Foods, a family-run New Zealand business that has been part of the raw feeding industry since 1996.

For decades, K9 has been producing high-quality raw pet food for dogs and cats across the country, building a reputation for simple, honest nutrition made from real ingredients. The business has remained firmly family-led, with a long-standing commitment to doing things properly – focusing on quality products and practical nutrition for pets.

Our founder, Rebecca, has worked within the K9 business for more than two decades. During that time, she saw firsthand the difference raw feeding could make to pets’ health – from improved digestion and healthier coats to better long-term wellbeing.

In 2019, Rebecca decided it was time to make raw feeding even more accessible to everyday pet owners. She opened the K9 retail store in Hawke’s Bay, creating a place where locals could access premium K9 raw rolls, NZ-made treats, and natural wellness essentials.

The store quickly became a favourite with pet owners who valued trusted products, knowledgeable advice, and simple, natural feeding options.

Expanding Nationwide: The Birth of Go Raw

Four years ago, demand grew beyond Hawke’s Bay. Pet owners across the country were looking for the same quality and service.

So, we launched Go Raw – our online store, built to deliver high-quality raw food and NZ-made products to homes across Aotearoa.
